Originally formed in the fall of 2006, Infinite Sound Supply had a rocky start with a few bumps in the road. There has been
member change, after member change in this group of gifted musicians, but the outcome has been well worth the wait, not to
mention the hard work. There is a fantastic story to go along with both the member changes and the name Infinite Sound Supply
among other interesting facts about the band that will be presented in the following text, the biography of Infinite Sound
Supply.
Infinite Sound Supply, the true Infinite Sound Supply was formed, like most great bands with the decline and fall of other
bands. Infinite Sound Supply actually declined in members, however, “lack of talent” is certainly not a phrase
used to describe this astounding trio.
Infinite Sound Supply started with five members: JJ Taylor: Lead/Rhythm Guitar and Lead Vocals, Ashlee Wing: Lead Vocals,
Donnie Eubanks: Bass Guitar, Aaron Pride: Lead/Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals, and Oz Woodliff on Drums/Percussion. After
only three shows, Donnie decided to go back to school. He was already working two jobs and decided it was best to cut something
loose. Infinite Sound Supply and Donnie made their separate ways. Ashlee quickly stepped up to the plate and tried her hands
at bass guitar. She was a natural. Although she had never played an instrument before, Ashlee had the band back on the road
almost immediately.
Infinite Sound Supply played several regional shows for nearly a year following the loss of Donnie including a show at world
famous CAIN'S BALLROOM in Tulsa, OK as well as opening for Smith Music Group’s recording/ national touring artists:
NO JUSTICE at The Otherside Event Center. The last time these four talented musicians would be onstage together would be at
Brewdogs Bar in Tahlequah, OK on Friday, November 13, 2009. Aaron decided to play a few more shows with his old blues band:
LOCUS, before moving to Tulsa where he planned to pursue other things. Oz had to help plan his wedding to his fiancé, Lanie;
so the band plays on with a new drummer as a three piece band like no other!
Infinite Sound Supply picked up Tim "the Tool Man" Taylor, a mass communications major from Northeastern State University
in Tahlequah, OK to complete the talented trio known only as Infinite Sound Supply in October of 2009 marking the second anniversary
of Infinite Sound Supply as a regionally successful band.
MEET THE BAND:
JJ Taylor, formerly of Opposites Attract, and Captain Bartholomew and the Water-Pistol Bandits, fronts the band as co-lead
vocalist and guitarist. His wicked guitar licks and wide vocal range are unsurpassed.
Ashlee Wing, formerly of the Stop Sign Bandits, plays bass guitar and takes the stage as co-lead vocalist with mind boggling
lows on the bass guitar and high vocals that Amy Lee of Evanescence could only dream of.
Tim "the Tool Man" Taylor beats the skins with a skill so incredible, seemingly no percussionist can offer any sort of competition!
Tim, the latest addition to Infinite Sound Supply, has played guitar for years, but has come to find his true calling as the
drummer for the great Infinite Sound Supply!
Infinite Sound Supply plays a wide variety of music; however, most of their original music seems to lean towards a mix of
blues, grunge, punk, and alternative rock. Most refer to this style of music as Adult Contemporary/Alternative Rock. With
a combined of over twenty-five years of experience under these early twenties’ belts, it is no wonder their music leaves
an astounding, unforgettable mark on such a wide variety of people of different ethnic backgrounds and cultures. If an alternative
to one’s daily listening is needed, then Infinite Sound Supply must not be the band one is listening to. From steady,
easy listening, to rocking out with your sound system cranked to full volume, Infinite Sound Supply covers it all. Summing
up the great Infinite Sound Supply in a single phrase, “Infinite Sound Supply may be the only group that makes one feel
the experience of what he or she is listening to.”
DISCOVERING THE NAME: INFINITE SOUND SUPPLY
The name Infinite Sound Supply is actually a play on words. The initials: I.S.S. originally stood for In School Suspension.
Co-lead singer/guitarist JJ Taylor was a little bit of a rebel when he attended school at Westville High School in Westville,
OK. During JJ’s senior year, a new high school principal was hired. This principal seemed to take an instant dislike
to JJ. JJ was on the newspaper staff and had written several controversial articles that had been approved for print by the
newspaper class teacher but denied by this new principal. JJ also noticed other things on campus changing as well and decided
to do something about it. JJ created a website for students and teachers to voice their opinions, good or bad, about Westville
School. The site was filtered to ensure no profanity was displayed. JJ then distributed fliers advertising this website. The
new principal saw this as a “challenge to his authority” and punished JJ by blocking the website on all computers
in the school and putting JJ in I.S.S. or In School Suspension for one week. JJ realized that this was the perfect opportunity
to get back at the principal. He sat down at a desk and started brainstorming with words that had the same abbreviation as
In School Suspension. After school that day, he ran his I.S.S. idea by the guys in his band at the time and thus Infinite
Sound Supply was born. No more will students receiving I.S.S. dread those letters. JJ is quoted as saying, “When someone
hears the letters I-S-S, the first thing I want to pop in their mind is: INFINITE SOUND SUPPLY!” This all happened in
2006, and I.S.S. (Infinite Sound Supply) is still holding strong with a catchy name and great music, and to think, it all
got started with a stick-it-to-the-man, rock and roll attitude and a boring day in detention.
